Xylocopa (Nanoxylocopa) ciliata Burmeister, 1876 This species is known from Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and southern Brazil (Hurd, 1978; Moure, 2007). In Brazil, it has been recorded from the states of Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul (Silveira et al., 2002; Moure, 2007). Here it is newly recorded from the state of Minas Gerais. Females were collected, while foraging on flowers, during a brief survey of the bee fauna of the Serra da Canastra National Park, situated in a highland plateau in southwestern Minas Gerais.
