I testi in francese nelle antologie dell'Ars Nova: primo approccio complessivo

Abstract

Le composizioni su testo francese conservate nelle antologie dell’Ars Nova costituiscono buona parte del corpus studiato nell’ambito del progetto quinquennale “European Ars Nova: Multilingual Poetry and Polyphonic Song in the Late Middle Ages” (ArsNova). In questo contributo si offre una riflessione sulle loro caratteristiche linguistiche, evidenziando come i sistemi potenzialmente compresenti, e quindi da considerare nell’analisi, sono la koinè della poesia lirica francese del Trecento, eventuali tratti riconducibili agli autori dei testi (francesi o italiani), la lingua italoromanza dei copisti (settentrionali o toscani), eventuali altre interferenze ereditate da antigrafi perduti. L’analisi linguistica così orientata permette di formulare ipotesi attendibili riguardo all’ambiente in cui i testi sono stati prodotti e di ricostruire la storia della loro tradizione, ricezione e diffusione. Nel caso dei testi francesi intonati da polifonisti italiani e presumibilmente di autori italiani, contribuisce a stabilire la natura delle eventuali incoerenze rispetto al francese, se insomma ci troviamo di fronte a testi scritti in una lingua paragonabile al cosiddetto franco-italiano proprio soprattutto della letteratura in versi prodotta in area lombarda e veneta.
