The abundance of individuals of the bivalve Chamelea gallina (Linné) of the Platja Llarga de Salou (Tarragona, Spain) in which borings due to the depradatory action of carnivorous gastropods (Naticidae) were observed, induced us to study this activity. To do this study, a monthly ramdom sampling was made of all Bivalves in this area. This allowed us. to determine that the percentage of bored individuals varied significantly through the fourteen monthly samples.
