Genus Allorhynchium van der Vecht Allorhynchium van der Vecht 1963a: 57, 58, genus. Type species: Vespa argentata Fabricius 1804, by original designation. Archancistrocerus Giordani Soika 1986c: 143, genus. Type species: Archancistrocerus diffinis Giordani Soika 1986, by original designation and monotypy. Taxonomy: Tan et al. 2018: 49–64 (syn.: Archancistocerus Giordani Soika; key to Oriental species). Distribution: Primarily Oriental Region, with several species extending into the Palearctic Region, and one species reported also from Australia. Ethology: No reports on the Australian species. One Oriental species apparently nests in pre-existing cavities.
