F. Mantelatto, 04.i.1996; 1 ♂, 3 ♀ ov, CCDB 217, Ubatuba, colls. F. Mantelatto et al., 23.ii.1996. Distribution. Western Atlantic—Brazil (Ceará, Rio Grande do Norte, Paraíba, Pernambuco, Alagoas, Sergipe, Bahia, Espírito Santo, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Santa Catarina, Rio Grande do Sul), Uruguay, and Argentina (Williams & Boschi 1990 as Panopeus margentus; Vieira et al. 1998; Coelho et al. 2008; Vieira & Calazans 2010 as Hexapanopeus schmitti; Alves et al. 2012a, b; Spivak et al. 2019). Remarks. Previous records in São Paulo include Ubatuba (Mantelatto & Fransozo 2000; Bertini et al. 2004 as Hexapanopeus schmitti; Alves et al. 2012b), Ilha Vitória (Alves et al. 2012a). In Argentina it was listed as Hexapanopeus schmitti and Panopeus margentus (Spivak et al. 2019). Sequences accession number (GenBank): CCDB 1361—16S (MF490168), COI (MF490068) (Mantelatto et al. 2018a).
