Abstract

La respuesta espectral de la vegetación proporciona valiosa información sobre sus características biofísicas y fisiológicas. El objetivo fue detectar estrés hídrico durante el desarrollo foliar del brócoli, mediante el cálculo del índice de vegetación de diferencia normalizada (NDVI) sobre imágenes multiespectrales (RED, NIR), capturadas a corta distancia (pixel de 2,4mm) con el fin de proporcionar una herramienta alternativa, que no sacrifique el cultivo y permita la toma de decisiones más oportuna. Se realizó la captura de imágenes multiespectrales, de 120 plantas sometidas a estrés hídrico instantáneo, aplicando diferentes dosis de riego: T1-Anegamiento, T2, T3 y T4 a 25-50-75% respectivamente, en referencia a la Capacidad de campo y T5-Testigo; durante trece días, en dos periodos: 45 y 75 días después del trasplante. De forma paralela se registró variables fisiológicas como: conductancia estomática y contenido relativo de agua. Se calculó el NDVI. Se validaron los hallazgos comparando el NDVI con la conductancia estomática y contenido relativo de agua. Los resultados fueron estadísticamente significativos con nivel de confianza P=0,05, para el periodo de 45 días se determinó valores fuertes de correlación (R=0,71) comparando el NDVI con las variables fisiológicas; a diferencia del periodo de 75 días, se obtuvo valores de R débiles e inferiores a 0,45. Este estudio permitió profundizar en el conocimiento de la respuesta espectral del cultivo de brócoli en su desarrollo vegetativo. Además, muestra la utilidad del NDVI a escala de parcela, como un enfoque rápido, alternativo y no destructivo para estimar estrés hídrico en cultivos para decisiones más oportunas.
