El estudio tuvo como objetivo analizar la diferencia entre inteligencia emocional y la actividad física en estudiantes universitarios. El estudio se desarrolló mediante una metodología cuantitativa con diseño no experimental, de tipo comparativo y corte transversal. El muestreo utilizado fue no probabilístico y estuvo conformado por 100 personas (50=Actividad Física; 50=Sin Actividad Física). Los instrumentos seleccionados para la recolección de la información fueron la escala TMMS-24 y el Cuestionario Internacional de Actividad Física (IPAQ) versión corta. La información se analizó con los paquetes estadísticos PAST 3, SPSS 22.0 y Microsoft Excel utilizando los estadísticos descriptivos, pruebas de normalidad, de correlación y de contraste de hipótesis. Se encontró que existen diferencias estadísticamente significativas entre los estudiantes que practican actividad física y los que no. Se concluye que entre más frecuente es la actividad física, mayor es la claridad y la reparación emocional.
The study aimed to analyze the difference between emotional intelligence and physical activity in university students. The study was developed under a quantitative methodology with non-experimental design, comparative type, and cross-sec- tion. The sample used was non-probabilistic and consisted of 100 people (50 = Physical Activity; 50 = No Physical Activity). The instruments selected for data collection were the TMMS- 24 scale and the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) short version. The information was analyzed with the statistical packages PAST 3, SPSS 22.0, and Microsoft Excel using descriptive statistics, normality tests, correlation tests, and hypothesis contrast. Statistically significant differences were found to exist between students who engage in physical activity and those who do not. It is concluded that the more frequent the physical activity, the greater the clarity and emo- tional repair.
