Convolvulus sepium Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 1: 153. 1753. "Habitat in Europae sepibus." RCN: 1217. Lectotype (Brummitt in Davis, Fl. Turkey 6: 220. 1978): Herb. A. van Royen No. 901.138-267 (L). Current name: Calystegia sepium (L.) R. Br. (Convolvulaceae). Note: Meeuse (in Bothalia 6: 697. 1958) treated 208.3 (LINN) as the lectotype but it is a Brander collection, not received by Linnaeus until after 1753, and is therefore not original material for the name.
