Clutia pulchella Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 2: 1042. 1753. "Habitat in Aethiopia." RCN: 7531. Lectotype (Wijnands, Bot. Commelins: 96. 1983): Herb. Linn. No. 1206.7 (LINN). Generitype of Clutia Linnaeus (vide Green, Prop. Brit. Bot.: 193. 1929). Current name: Clutia pulchella L. (Euphorbiaceae). Note: Prain (in Bull. Misc. Inform. Kew 1913: 375-378. 1913) discussed the original elements for the name in some detail but did not make a choice of type.
