Abstract

Clusia major Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 1: 509. 1753. "Habitat in Jamaicae & Caribaearum apricis." RCN: 7627. Lectotype (Bittrich & Stevens in Taxon 47: 121. 1998): [icon] Aubriet copy of unpublished Plumier drawing (Ms. No. 6, Bot. Amer., t. VI, " Clusia flore albo, fructu coccineo ", P) titled " Clusia foliis aveniis ", excl. separately drawn elements; open fl. on branch, in Plumier, Codex Boerhaavianus (University Library, Groningen). Generitype of Clusia Linnaeus (vide Green, Prop. Brit. Bot.: 160. 1929). Current name: Clusia major L. (Clusiaceae). Note: See extensive review and discussion by Bittrich & Stevens.
