Citrus aurantium Linnaeus var. sinensis Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 2: 783. 1753. RCN: 5727. Lectotype (Mabberley in Telopea 7: 170. 1997): Herb. Linn. No. 937.2, lower row of leaves (LINN). Current name: Citrus × aurantium L. (Rutaceae). Note: Porter & Elias (in Ann. Missouri Bot. Gard. 66: 132. 1979) indicated Bauhin material (BAS), unseen by Linnaeus, as the type, but it is not original material for the name.
