Bot.: 34. 1696. - Typotype: Herb. Sloane 95: 57 (BM-SL). Current name: Asclepias variegata L. (Asclepiadaceae). Note: Although Woodson (in Ann. Missouri Bot. Gard. 41: 62, 118. 1954) indicated 310.20 (LINN) as the type, Rendle’s choice has priority.
