Arnica maritima Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 2: 884. 1753. "Habitat in Kamschatka & America septentrionali." RCN: 6401. Neotype (Barkley in Jarvis & Turland in Taxon 47: 353. 1998): Canada. Labrador, HMS Niger Expedition, 1 7 66, John Williams s.n. (BM-000576308). Current name: Senecio pseudoarnica Less. (Asteraceae). Note: Jeffrey & Chen (in Kew Bull. 39: 358. 1984) indicated the Gmelin phrase name as the holotype. However, this is contrary to Art. 8.1, and Barkley therefore designated a neotype.
