Arnica coronopifolia Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 2: 885. 1753. "Habitat in Aethiopia." RCN: 6405. Type not designated. Original material: none traced. Current name: Gerbera linnaei Cass. (Asteraceae). Note: Hansen (in Opera Bot. 78: 9. 1985) stated that the type was lost and suggested that the name is probably synonymous with A. gerbera L. If this is confirmed, “coronopifolia” would become an earlier epithet for what is now called Gerbera linnaei Cass., which might make a rejection proposal desirable.
