Linum africanum Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 1: 280. 1753. "Habitat in Africa." RCN: 2220. Neotype (Rogers in Nordic J. Bot. 1: 715. 1981): Herb. Linn. No. 396.34 (LINN). Current name: Linum africanum L. (Linaceae). Note: Although the collection indicated by Rogers as the holotype was almost certainly a post-1753 addition to the herbarium, the absence of any original material means that this can be treated as a neotype under Art. 9.8.
