Prenanthes japonica Linnaeus, Systema Naturae, ed. 12, 2: 521; Mantissa Plantarum: 107. 1767. "Habitat in Japonia. Kleynhoff." RCN: 5834. Lectotype (Grierson in Dassanayake & Fosberg, Revised Handb. Fl. Ceylon 1: 268. 1980): Kleynhoff, Herb. Linn. No. 952.6 (LINN). Current name: Youngia japonica (L.) DC. (Asteraceae).
