Abstract

Boletus luteus Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 2: 1177. 1753. "Habitat in Sylvis." RCN: 8476. Type not designated. Original material: [icon] in Buxbaum, Pl. Minus Cognit. Cent. 5: 7, t. 14. 1740. Current name: Suillus luteus (L.: Fr.) Rouss. (Boletaceae). Note: Palm & Stewart (in Taxon 33: 328. 1986) designated Lundell s.n., Fungi Exsiccati Suecici, 553 (UPS) as a neotype. However, a cited plate from Buxbaum is original material for this name, which therefore precludes the designation of a neotype (Art. 9.11).
