" Nyssa foeminea pedunculis unifions" (BM-000042689). Generitype of Nyssa Linnaeus. Current name: Nyssa aquatica L. (Nyssaceae). Note: Detailed reviews of this name and the complexities of its application were published by Eyde (in Rhodora 61: 209-218. 1959; Taxon 13: 129-131. 1964), but neither he nor Howard & Staples (in J. Arnold Arbor. 64: 533. 1983) explicitly chose a type.
