Ferula orientalis Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 1: 247. 1753. "Habitat in Oriente." RCN: 1988. Lectotype (Watson in Jarvis & al in Taxon 55: 212, 560. 2006): Herb. Clifford: 95, Ferula 5, sheet A (BM-000558278). Current name: Ferula orientalis L. (Apiaceae). Note: Watson (in Jarvis & al. in Taxon 55: 212. 2006) designated Clifford material (BM) as the type, but did not distinguish between two sheets (which are evidently not part of a single gathering so Art. 9.15 does not apply). However, this omission was corrected in Taxon 55: 560 (2006), from where the typification dates.
