12. Although the sample of Neogobius platyrostris (Pallas, 1814) in the article of Sözer (1941) was obtained from the Black Sea as it was written (sample is not based on a finding, the described sample was from the collection of İstanbul University Zoological Institute). The article of Sözer (1941) is not the first record article; it is focused on the topic in which mainly stated the species was found in the region, mainly Mediterranean originated, and has been present since the Sarmatic period. The geographic location of the Sea of Marmara is involved in both of these structures between the Black Sea and the Mediterranean Sea. Reading the entire article is recommended in order to clarify the topic.
