IMPLEMENTATION OF CHARACTER EDUCATION IN BASIC LEARNING DISCUSSION OF STATISTICS IN SMP NEGERI 2 SEMARAPURA

Abstract

This study aimed to find out the implementation of character education on the subject of class IX semester statistics 1 in SMPN 2 Semarapura. This research is experimental research data collected by questionnaire instruments, observation and documentation. Study sample numbered 38 people. They were taken using a random sampling technique sampling. Collected data are then analyzed by determining the percentage of implementation of character education in grain character values and character values as a whole then interpreted on a scale that has been determined. Having obtained a description interpreted that 91.18% students have confidence with the very good category, 91.18% students have the attitude of cooperation with the categories excellent, 41.18% students have the ability to think logically with enough categories, 79.41% had attitude creative and innovative with good category, 61.77% of critical thinking is embedded with either category, 85.29% ingrained attitude of honesty in the learning process with very good categories, 73.53% students have a sense of concern with either category, 79.41% students have a responsible attitude in implementing the task with either category, only 38.24% students have the attitude of independence with less category, this is because the tasks assigned to students as a group still hoped for help from other groups, 61.77% students have a working life hard in completing tasks, 85.29% students have the attitude of tolerance value the opinions of his friends in solving problems with very good categories, 76.47% students have the attitude of courage in expressing their opinions, appear in the presentation, only 38.24% students have the attitude environmental awareness among not noisy, do not play or do not joke with the category of less well due to childhood still carried bring in learning, 58.82% students have a polite, friendly and have good ethics by category, 44.12 % of students already have a discipline of learning quite well with the category and 52.94% of students are in compliance with social rules in the learning and performance of duties including manual execution of tasks, task criteria associated with the assessment. From the attainment of the above can be determined percentage of the achievement of the implementation of character education on the subject of statistics of 66.18% with good category. It can be concluded that character education on the subject of mathematics learning statistics 1st semester of academic year 2010/2011 in SMPN 2 Semarapura been implemented properly.
