Desde o surgimento da fotografia, a sociedade passou a pautar-se em uma constante vontade de afirmação de sua imagem, alterando assim, a forma como o sujeito contemporâneo constrói sua própria imagem. Na arte, é notável não apenas a busca pela construção de uma imagem identitária, mas, principalmente, no caso da artista, objeto de pesquisa desta dissertação, de um rompimento dessa imagem para a reformulação de seus próprios conceitos sobre o “eu”. Por isso, pretende-se, nesta pesquisa, analisar as obras produzidas pela artista Cindy Sherman, tendo em vista a sociedade contemporânea, que toma o autorretratar-se como prática cada vez mais comum. Esta dissertação tem como objetivo discutir como através dos conceitos de paródia, sátira, grotesco e apropriação se constitui o trabalho desenvolvido pela artista norte americana Cindy Sherman, conhecida por suas fotografias de si mesma. Desta forma, a dissertação aqui apresentada, buscou elucidar questões sobre a construção de um ser ficcional que toma como corpo a artista Cindy Sherman, de forma a descontruir a ideia de que ela produz um autorretrato, e questionar esse “eu” que vemos na superfície de suas imagens. Ainda buscando paralelo com o contemporâneo, analisamos como o Instagram, uma rede social, influencia suas novas produções. Since the beginning of Photography, society has been guided by a constant desire to affirm its image, thus changing the way the contemporary subject builds his own image. In art, it is remarkable not only the search for the construction of an identity image, but especially, in the case of the artist who is the object of this dissertation's research, a rupture of this image for the reformulation of her own concepts about the self. Therefore, this research intends to analyze the works produced by the artist Cindy Sherman, inserted in the contemporary society, which takes self-portrayal as an increasingly common practice. This dissertation aims to discuss how through the concepts of parody, satire, grotesque and appropriation constitutes the work developed by the North American artist Cindy Sherman, known for her photographs of herself. Thus, the dissertation presented here, sought to elucidate questions about the construction of a fictional being that takes the artist Cindy Sherman as a body, in order to deconstruct the idea that she produces a self-portrait, and question this self that we see on the surface of her images. Still seeking parallel with contemporary age, we analyze how Instagram, a social network, influences their new productions.
