Poin yamg lebih penting lagi di dalam pengajaran Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia terutama adalah membaca. Karena ketika kita duduk dibangku SD, hal pertama yang harus kita pelajari adalah membaca, kemudian kita akan dapat menulis juga menghitung serta merangkai berbagai macam kalimat. Pidato dan surat resmi adalah materi penting yang diajarkan di kelas 6.
