This book corresponds to the 2015 WATERLAT-GOBACIT Doctoral Student Prize (http://waterlat.org/waterlat-student-prize/). It addresses the politics of water in the semi-arid province of Mendoza, Argentina. Mendoza is a leading world producer of fine wines and other agricultural products. It examines the rapid and far-reaching transformations introduced since the 1990s through new technologies, particularly in irrigation, and the interrelations between the different "rationalities" at work.
