The volume offers a new critical and commented edition of the entire corpus of currently known cacce (22 texts and 19 musical settings). From an interdisciplinary point of view, the introductory study deals with many of the issues raised by a genre not widely disseminated as the madrigal and the ballata, but of great relevance to our knowledge of Italian Trecento music and poetry.
