The photo-essay »Places« of Dominique Uldry shows a selection of various places in which Paul Klee stayed during the treatment of his illness, from 1935 until his death in 1940. Seventy-five years later, in 2015, on the occasion of the exhibition »Paul Klee and Medicine« put on by the Museum of Medicine at the University of Zurich, Dominique Uldry searched out a selection of these places, which in his personal view best capture their specific mood and character. The sequence of the presented works in the photo-essay corresponds to the chronology of the residences Klee occupied in the locales depicted. In the documentation of Walther Fuchs, historical facts and photographs of Klee's stay in these places are presented in relation to the photographs of Dominique Uldry. The research and revisiting of these historical places, combined with the photographic eye of an artist, lead to new questions and insights into the life and work of Paul Klee.
