Abstract

Die Dynamik von Fußgängern und Menschenmengen ist ein faszinierendes und wichtiges Forschungsgebiet. Und es hat große Bedeutung für die Praxis. Das zeigt sich nicht zuletzt daran, dass es bei Veranstaltungen oder im Personenverkehr häufig zu Gedränge kommt. Zu erkennen, wann ein Gedränge gefährlich wird, ist eine mögliche Anwendung der hier vorgestellten Erkenntnisse und Methoden. Eine zweite Anwendung ist die Dimensionierung von Anlagen für den Fußgängerverkehr. Dadurch können Überlastungen vermieden und die Beeinträchtigung der individuellen Bewegungsfreiheit und des Komforts so gering gehalten werden, wie möglich. Das Buch wendet sich an Brandschutzplaner, Verkehrsplaner, Betreiber und Verantwortliche für Versammlungsstätten und Leiter von Veranstaltungen, die sich mit einem der folgenden Themen befassen (Anwendungsgebiete): Brandschutz: Evakuierung und Räumung; Veranstaltungen: Besucherströme und Sicherheit; Verkehrsanlagen: Fahrgastwechsel und Kapazitäten; Fußgängerverkehr: Dimensionierung von Gehwegen, Ein- und Ausgängen, etc.
