School reform requires a new teacher. There is an urgent need in improving the process of future teachers of English upbringing. In our opinion, the problem requires further studying, because it has not been studied in the context of upbringing for the New Ukrainian School. Article’s purpose: to formulate the problems of future teachers of English upbringing. Methodology: organization and carrying out a scientific pedagogical survey in the form of a written anonymous questionnaire for the 4th-year students (specialty 014 «Secondary Education (English Language and Literature)»), studying and the analysis of its results. Scientific novelty: the state of the future teachers of English upbringing (4th year) has been diagnosed for the first time. Conclusion: the current state of students’ understanding of the concept of «personality», its qualities, and how to improve the personality development have been reviewed. The data of the empirical study of students’ moral guidelines have been summarized. The imperfection of future teachers of English upbringing has been revealed. The survey data indicate the illusory nature of the future teachers of English moral guidelines; the lack of a clear understanding of the concept «personality» which is the key to learning foreign languages; the lack of vision of the ways for an individual improvement; the politicization of students. A number of questions arise: how will the graduates educate the pupils of the Ukrainian school, if they themselves do not have the upbringing guidelines; how to organize the upbringing of future English teachers. The survey allowed us to diagnose the state of the future teachers of English upbringing, to formulate the directions of further research in this area.
