Abstract

Este artigo tem o intuito de, através dos estudos e métodos de Campbell (2007) e Vogler (2006), relacionados a teoria da Jornada do Herói, verificar se a mesma pode ser aplicada na construção das narrativas literárias contemporâneas. Para tanto, tomamos como base literária a obra O Hobbit de J. R. R. Tolkien que foi um escritor inglês especializado em linguística com ênfase em antigo e médio inglês, nascido em Bloemfontein, África do Sul, em 3 de janeiro de 1892. Para fins de análise, tomamos com figura representativa do Herói, na obra, a personagem Bilbo Bolseiro e analisamos a evolução dela na obra em busca de elementos da Jornada, que segundo seus autores estão presente nas mais variadas histórias dos mais variados tempos. Ao final deste trabalho acabamos constatando que esses elementos, de fato, se fazem presentes não apenas no caminho da personagem, como também estão intimamente ligados a nós e nossas vidas.

Artigo publicado como pré-requisito para conclusão do curso de Letras no ano de 2015.
