In this study, we analyse the presence of general grammar in Spain from 1812 to 1823. This period of time corresponds with the time of Cadiz Courts and the end of the liberal triennium. It is a period with seemingly little impact of general grammar, since only a few treatises oriented to its explanation and teaching are published. However, a review of its history shows that the role of general grammar in the educational context that institutions attempt to establish is discussed, and that general grammar is talso effectively taught in the classroom and students are tested on it. Additionally, we also analyse the treatises published during the aforementioned period in order to determine its characteristics.
