Superconducting stacks of tapes demagnetize in presence of AC transverse fields, which is a major issue for aircraft motors. This demagnetization depends on various quantities such as ripple field amplitude and frequency, thickness and width of superconducting tape, and number of tapes in the stack. We aim to find the best trade-off/configuration to tackle this issue. We have developed an in-house software that can model millions of cycles of ripple field in a matter of minutes, which is relatively much faster than commercial software and our previous approaches. This presentation was selected for Oral presentation at EUCAS conference, Glasgow, Scotland, 2019.
