The purpose of this paper is to present the linguistic work carried out by missionaries in Peru throughout the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. Specifically, the paper focuses on the study of the gramatical work of González Holguín (Gramática y arte nueva de la lengua general de todo el Perú, llamada lengua Qquichua, o lengua del Inca, 1607) and compares this text with its predecessors: the Gramática o Arte de la Lengua General de los Indios del Reino del Perú (1560) of Santo Tomás y the anonymous Arte y vocabulario en la lengua general del Perú llamada Quichua, y en la lengua Española (1586). In conclusion, it aims to find out the contribution that the Quechua grammar of González Holguín performed on the grammatical legacy bequeathed by Santo Tomás and the anonymous of 1586.
