The concept of sustainability drew attention during the 20th century. Despite unsustainable impacts of human development are linked to ancient times, global concern started in contemporary society. Research on sustainability has been covered and analyzed from different fields, becoming an interdisciplinary field. As a result, one of the main problems is its ambivalence and the difficulty of finding its ‘limits’ and to delineate and to track the research on this field. This poster shows how this topic has been delineated by using a bibliometric approach and how a participatory methodology such as a science shop has been used to validate and interpret its content. In this regard, different data sources have been proved to be complementary insights to delineate a field. Moreover, it is intended to use the research output obtained within the search strategy in the research process framework of the science shop to solve concerns and issues from society.
