Este artículo aborda la producción de Luis Bertrán a comienzos del siglo XX, en especial en su labor de periodización del quehacer editorial en Uruguay. Se postula que la intención principal de este autor fue revelar los antecedentes más antiguos de la actuación editorial en su país, pudiéndose así proponer una historia capaz de recoger más ampliamente el pasado cultural de Uruguay This article deals with the production of Luis Bertrán at the beginning of the 20th century, especially in his work of periodizing editorial work in Uruguay. It is postulated that the main intention of this author was to reveal the oldest antecedents of the editorial performance in his country, thus being able to propose a history capable of gathering more widely the cultural past of Uruguay.
