Saigilo Magena is a Datooga leader from the late 19th century recognized as a traditional doctor, prophet, and legendary figure throughout the Tanzanian Rift Valley Area. This talk, developed as part of the 'African language and culture' class at Leiden University, is a preliminary report about Saigilo Magena, drawing together existing historical sources.
