Hydration behavior of Alite-Belite-Ye'elimite cements

Abstract

The challenge here is to unravel the hydration mechanism of these cements, the effect of w/c mass ratio and the corresponding mechanical properties. The behavior of the cement pastes at very early-age was investigated by rheology, calorimetry, SXRPD and LXRPD. Quantitative X-ray powder diffraction with Rietveld analysis were the main techniques used to investigate the content of crystalline and ACn phases in pastes (as in-situ and ex-situ hydration). Thermogravimetric analysis (TG-DTG) was employed to confirm the mineralogy of the pastes and to determine the chemically bounded water.

This research has been supported by Spanish MINECO and FEDER [BIA2017-82391-R research project and I3 (IEDI-2016-0079) program].
