The Research Data Alliance (RDA) was launched as a community-driven initiative in 2013 by the European Commission, the United States Government's National Science Foundation and National Institute of Standards and Technology, and the Australian Government’s Department of Innovation with the goal of building the social and technical infrastructure to enable open sharing and re-use of data. The RDA vision is to help researchers and innovator to openly share data across technologies, disciplines and countries to address the grand challenges of society. It has a mission to build the social and technical bridges to enable open sharing of data. The RDA has over 8400 members associated with 100 dedicated groups who are working on global interoperability challenges outputting data related best practices, guidelines and recommendations. In 2019, the wind energy (WE) domain got under the RDA umbrella through an ambassador call that should assure a bridge between WE domain and RDA communities. Currently, we are working on a survey, identification and selection of RDA outputs, working groups and interest groups which are of interest for the WE domain. This preliminary step will represent a cornerstone for the development of the RDA WE interest group which should assure synchronization of the data related activities across the wind energy domain. In our talk, we intend to present results of this work, followed with an outline of the WE Interest Group development plan and make an open call for everyone who would like to take an active part in the group growth.
