USE OF THE MUSEUM PEDAGOGICAL MEANS IN PROFESSIONAL ORIENTATION OF STUDENTS

Abstract

The article investigates the possibility of using the newest means of museum pedagogy in the professional orientation of pupils. The problem of choosing the future professional way for young men and girls never loses its relevance. It pays special attention to the student youth of the Hungarian-language educational institutions of Transcarpathia. The purpose of the work was to determine the state of professional orientation in general education institutions and to explore the possibilities of using the means of museum pedagogy to familiarize students with different professions. The methodology of the study is presented by the next components: the object is the professional orientation of student youth; the subject is the means of museum pedagogy and the possibility of their use in vocational guidance pupils. The objectives of the study were: 1) to study the status of vocational guidance work with students in the schools of the Transcarpathian region; 2) approbation of the created virtual center "Museum of Professions"; 3) an analysis of the results of the experimental study on the effectiveness of the functioning of the virtual center and the possibility of using the latest tools in the vocational guidance of pupils. Achievement of results envisaged the use of methods, among which: theoretical (analysis of literature), empirical (questionnaires of students and teachers of different schools of the Transcarpathian region), mathematical (cluster analysis, statistical processing of the obtained results using the program Statistica 6.0). The scientific novelty lies in the fact that for the first time in pedagogical practice the problem of using modern means of museum pedagogy for the professional orientation of student youth is posed; created information and educational space (virtual center "Museum of Professions") to familiarize students with the world of occupations, the essence of one or another professional activity and opportunities for mastering the professional path. Conclusions. The obtained results allow to state: 1) satisfactory level of vocational guidance work in general educational institutions of the region, including Hungarian-language schools; 2) approbation of the museum information and educational space (virtual center "Museum of Professions") is positively perceived both by students and teachers; 3) the use of the means of museum pedagogy affects the positive dynamics in the motivation of cognitive activity of students, activating their professional orientation interests. Prospects for further research are to reveal the essence of the use of innovative museum-pedagogical means in the professional orientation of students in the process of teaching disciplines of the natural – sciences cycle.
