ÖZET Bu makaleyi ele alışımızdaki temel amaç, kelam tarihinde Sünni Kelamcıların varlığa nasıl baktığını ve ne anlam yüklediğini araştırmaktır. Bunu yapmak için, onların varlığı nasıl tanımladığından ziyade nasıl kategorize ettiğinden bahsetmeyi tercih ettik. Böylece okuyucunun önüne, şahsi yorumlardan uzak ham veri koyarak, Sünnî Kelamcıların varlığa bakış açılarının yorumunu yine okuyucunun kendisine bırakmayı tercih ettik. Bu hususta önce, İslam düşüncesi dışında kalan varlık anlayışlarını ve İslam düşünce sisteminde yapılan varlık tariflerini kısaca ortaya koyduktan sonra, diğer Kelamcılardan kısmen farklı düşünen el-Gazzâlî ve Abdulkâhir el-Bağdâdî’nin varlık düşüncesini ortaya koymaya çalıştık. Sonunda makalenin en önemli kısmını oluşturan Sünnî Kelamcıların varlık sınıflamasını ele aldık. Bu husustaki nihai hedefimiz, geçmişe ait bigi birikiminin, gelecekteki araştırmalara ışık tutmasıdır. ABSTRACT The Classification of Existence According to Sunni Theologians This article mainly aims to explain how Sunni theologians conceive the idea of “entity” and what kind of meanings they have attributed to this concept throughout theological history. To this end, the discussion focuses on how they categorize entity rather than how they define it. This approach allows readers to develop a basis of objective understanding before formulating their own opinions regarding the Sunni theological concept of entity. The first part of the paper reviews the precarious position of entity as an idea in Islamic thought. This section presents a brief overviewof some common definitions of the term. The article’s second section analyzes the unique suppositions of el-Gazzâlî and Abdulkâhir el-Bağdâdî, whose views on this topic differ significantly from those of other theologians. Finally, the most important part of this article is a classification of entity made by Sunni theologians. The greater goal of this investigation is to ensure that past knowledge and information will pave the way for future studies.
