This is the GAMS model code and all input data required for replicating the calculations presented in the article "Start-up Costs of Thermal Power Plants in Markets with Increasing Shares of Variable Renewable Generation", which appeared in Nature Energy on 3 April 2017, Volume 2, Article Number 17050, http://dx.doi.org/10.1038/nenergy.2017.50. Running the model requires a GAMS license and a license for a MIP solver (we use CPLEX). I'm happy to receive any kind of feedback under wschill@diw.de.
