Abstract

Per quanto riguarda l'analisi astronomica, nel testo si trova un riferimento ad un manuale di P. Salimbeni. A dispetto del titolo del testo, la materia esposta - a detta dell'autore stesso - non è da wayfaring, poiché in tal caso non si necessita certo delle tecniche così complesse come quelle che espone il manuale. Vi trovate il giorno solare vero, il giorno solare medio, l'equazione del tempo, la declinazione solare, l'analemma, durata media periodo luce, crepuscolo, durata media crepuscolo, e molto altro, tra cui la strumentazione. Questo articolo propone la discussione dell’orientamento astronomico di Torino, l’antica Julia Augusta Taurinorum. Come molte delle città fondate dai Romani, Torino ha il decumano orientato verso il sorger del sole. Se pensiamo quindi la città fondata con l’antico rituale che ne stabiliva l’orientamento verso il punto ortivo, possiamo usare l’ampiezza ortiva del sole per determinare i due possibili giorni dell’anno, all’alba dei quali Torino sarebbe nata più di duemila anni fa. L’articolo propone anche una possibile fondazione secondo un riferimento equatoriale.
