The main tendencies of development of system of preschool education of world practice are analysed in article. It is revealed that preschool education is directed on formation of the general culture, development of physical, esthetic, moral, intellectual and personal qualities, formation of prerequisites of educational activity, preservation and promotion of health of children of preschool age. In article on the basis of the analysis of the theory and practice of preschool education the potential of the main approaches of an assessment of quality of preschool education is considered. Reasonably methodological importance of use of complementary approaches to formation of pedagogical process. An attempt of the analysis of philosophical and pedagogical ideas of the most significant representatives of pedagogical thought at different temporary stages is made, the main directions and results of their activity, genesis of outlook are traced.
