This Scholarly Communication Policy sets out a collective framework for scholarly communication at the Centre for Science and Technology Studies (CWTS), Leiden University. Rather than treating publishing as a series of individual choices, the policy approaches scholarly communication as a collective institutional responsibility. It articulates shared principles and practical expectations regarding publication practices, openness, engagement, and the long-term development of scholarly communication. The policy was developed through an institute-wide co-creation process between 2024 and 2026 involving researchers across career stages. It is intended both as an internal governance document and as a resource for other research organizations interested in developing collective approaches to scholarly communication.
