Abstract

La présente étude philologique et historique explique une possible attribution de l’Évangilede Pierre à Pline le Jeune, rédigé en Bithynie-Pont vers 112 CE. Pline le Jeune aurait agi enqualité de Legatus Augusti afin de couvrir une opération militaire désastreuse pour Rome.L’hypothèse repose sur trois piliers: (1) l’identification d’un motif politique précis — couvrirl’humiliation et la crucifixion du roi des Juifs à Pella en 107 CE; (2) l’idée que les anomaliesapparentes du texte sont cohérentes avec un auteur latinophone cultivé du début du IIesiècle; (3) la traçabilité d’une diffusion via les scriptoria alexandrins. La révolte de Kitos qui asuivi (115—117 CE) est interprétée comme la réponse des Juifs hellénistes d’Orient aunarratif fallacieux imposé par ce rouleau.
