This study addresses the systemic barriers hindering thedevelopment of professional speech competence among students in non–linguisticdisciplines (e.g., engineering, economics, medicine). In a globalized economy, technical expertise is insufficient without the ability to navigate complexterminological and cultural discourse. By identifying linguistic, psychological, andmethodological constraints, this paper proposes a shift toward professionallyoriented training models, specifically Task–Based Learning (TBL) and theintegration of rhetorical modules. The conclusion emphasizes that professionalsocialization is a multi–dimensional process requiring synergy between languageeducators and core department faculty.
