The article examines the methodological aspects of teaching Japanese speech etiquette to Oriental studies students. Drawing on an analysis of contemporary curricula and teaching materials (N. T. Khalmurzaeva, I. B. Sanzhizhapova, F. E. Zvyagin, A. A. Shnyrko, Mori Masako), the study substantiates a synthetic methodological approach that integrates structural-grammatical, linguocultural, and pragmatic paradigms. The communicative method (TPO concept), game-based technologies (role play, case study method), and digital tools (educational platforms, mobile applications, VR technologies) are characterized as mutually complementary components of instruction. The results of the practical approbation of the authors' exercise system, conducted with a group of third-year language university students, are presented.
