STRUCTURAL FEATURES OF PHRASEOLOGICAL UNITS WITH THE COMPONENT "눈" IN KOREAN AND UZBEK

Abstract

The article presents a comparative analysis of Korean phraseological units containing the component “눈” and their functional counterparts with the component “Ko‘z” in Uzbek. The study identifies the main structural types, grammatical-semantic features, and metaphorical models underlying these expressions. It is shown that both linguistic cultures employ common syntactic patterns, yet differ in analyticity, expressiveness, word-formation mechanisms, and the role of onomatopoeia. Despite sharing a common conceptual orientation, the phraseological units demonstrate significant typological differences that reflect the specificity of the national linguistic worldview.

Keywords

Korean phraseology; Uzbek phraseology; eye; 눈; ko'z; structural typology; metaphor; linguoculturology; somatisms
