Bakhtin and the Chronotope

Abstract

There are theoretical concepts that, due to their strength and versatility, take the risk of becoming victims of their ownsuccess. Mikhail Bakhtin’s “chronotope” is undoubtedly one of these concepts. Often reduced to a mere classificatory label ora scholarly synonym for “setting”, sometimes loses its original power to reveal how reality is assimilated by art. The bookyou hold in your hands was born precisely from the need to rediscover that potency.
