As with previous surveys in this series, this research report on Digital Skills Austria IV focuses on describing and discussing how well the Austrian online population can navigate the digital space. Against the backdrop of findings from earlier Digital Skills Austria studies, as well as the current state of international research in the social and communication sciences, the report distinguishes between the following: activities in the digital space (DSI, or DSI score from Eurostat); digital skills; knowledge of digital processes; and actual digital competencies (Grünangerl & Prandner, 2024). Additionally, the report analyses how participation in, and opportunities for participation in, the digital space are distributed, based on survey data from the 2025 Digital Skills Austria survey.
