JAR Reaper Ambisonics Bundle — companion to "The B-Format as Score: Composition, Interpretation, and Spatial Form in Ambisonics"

Abstract

This bundle is the companion REAPER environment for The B-Format as Score:Composition, Interpretation, and Spatial Form in Ambisonics (Johannes Schütt, 2026),submitted to the Journal of Artistic Research (JAR) via the ResearchCatalogue platform. It turns a freshly installed REAPER into a configured playground for thepaper's ambisonic experiments: pre-configured ReaScripts, Lua helpers,JSFX plug-ins (notably Raumpartitur_Analyzer.jsfx), the SpaceScoreintegration (Python + Lua + JSON example data), and a starter ProjectTemplate for user experimentation. What the ZIP contains (tool only): Scripts, Effects (JSFX), Data,UserPlugins binaries (ReaPack, SWS, Helgobox for Apple Silicon),configuration files, Templates/SpaceScore/ (Python companion + docs),ProjectTemplates/Default/ (scaffold), and the install guide as README.md. What the ZIP does not contain — but is needed per experiment: REAPER.app itself (licensing reasons — install from reaper.fm into thebundle folder per README §3.2). The IEM, ICST, and SPARTA plug-in suites (install per README §3.4–3.6). Each experiment session (HeadTracking_Demo, JAR_MultiDecoder, M-series,Rethinking Thought study sets, etc.) is published as a separateZenodo record with its own DOI. Download only the sessions you need. Target platform: Apple Silicon macOS 13+ (Ventura, Sonoma, Sequoia).Tested on REAPER v7.69 / IEM v1.15.0 / SPARTA v1.8.2. Windows 10/11 nottested; see README §4. License: Bundle documentation, scripts, JSFX, and configuration areCC BY 4.0. Third-party components retain their own licenses (see README §8). Reproducibility: This bundle has been verified against README §6Verify the install. See the accompanying test protocol record forSHA-256 hashes, test date, and per-check results. SHA-256: ade4453eb2e07e87bf503a30d1f21321d48d779682bc5f5df4e03c2333b1d16bMD5: f6a1a68645ba05d044319843f1ca6aee

--- v1.0.1 (2026-04-29) — Added: - Tools/ — standalone Python analysis toolchain: raumpartitur_export.py, set_c_directional_energy_analysis.py, analyse_bformat.py, hoa_analyzer.py, hoa_render_pipeline.py.- Tools/maintenance/ — bundle audit and cleanup scripts for transparent reproducibility.- Tools/sample_output/ — sample output from raumpartitur_export.py.- Templates/SpaceScore/ — two additional analysis scripts: space_score_analyze_bformat.py (B-Format WAV → SpaceScore JSON + browser player) and space_score_analyze_selected_item.lua (REAPER one-action analysis). Coordinate convention corrected in README (az=+90°=Right, consistent with REAPER_SETUP.md and visualization code).- ProjectTemplates/ — HOA7 VirtualSpeaker Demos, Rendering Type-3 template, MultiDecoder Set-D README.- Scripts/ — additional REAPER ReaScripts: AB_Switch_Monitor.lua, D10_Region_Export_Selected_Item.lua, reaper_play_region_under_cursor_and_stop.lua.- Documentation/ — HOA Render Pipeline guide (PDF).- GUIDE.html — comprehensive illustrated setup guide with active links.- install_setup.command — double-clickable macOS installer for Python dependencies. All v1.0.0 contents preserved. The additions do not change the portable REAPER setup or existing JSFX/Lua workflow.

--- v1.0.3 (2026-04-29) — Fixed: - Removed Effects/VST3/ directory (IEM, ICST AmbiEncoder/Decoder, dearVR AMBI MICRO). Third-party binaries are not redistributable; install independently per README §3.- Stripped private file paths from ProjectTemplates/REAPER_HOA7_ICST_VirtualSpeaker_Demos.RPP.- Added LICENSE.txt (CC BY 4.0) for original bundle content.- Added scipy to Python dependency list (README §8 standalone tools).- Added dearVR AMBI MICRO download note (README §2, §3.7) with IEM BinauralDecoder as alternative.- Translated GUIDE.html and BUNDLE_INVENTORY fully to English; removed internal metadata from README. All v1.0.2 scripts, JSFX, Lua, JSON, templates, and documentation preserved.

--- v1.0.2 (2026-04-29) — Changed: All bundle documentation translated from German to English. Affected files:ProjectTemplates/REAPER_HOA7_ICST_VirtualSpeaker_Demos_README.md,ProjectTemplates/REAPER_Rendering_Type3_Template_README.md,ProjectTemplates/REAPER_SetD_MultiDecoder_README.md,Templates/SpaceScore/REAPER_SETUP.md. All v1.0.1 contents and functionality preserved. No scripts, templates, or JSFX files were modified.
